Growing up in a Palestinian family, some of my strongest memories were made around the table. Meals were how we gathered, shared stories, laughed, and expressed love without needing many words. That’s the spirit behind Bites by Megg: a little creativity, something delicious, and a reason to spend time together.

My professional background is in design and creative direction, where I’ve spent years helping brands tell their stories. Cooking has opened up another way to express that creativity- through flavor, texture, color, and presentation.

Just as I built color palettes, I now find myself building flavor palettes, experimenting with unexpected combinations and reimagining familiar favorites. I love making bites that are as fun to look at as they are to eat.

Through Bites by Megg, I offer creative catering, event planning, and styling, alongside my own dinner parties, pop-ups, and community gatherings. Ask someone what they first learned to cook and chances are they’ll say eggs. Ask me how my journey with bites started and I’ll say deviled eggs.

Several years ago, my uncle took me to Torc in downtown Napa. He couldn’t believe I’d never tried deviled eggs, so he ordered some for us. I can still picture them: green filling piped into the eggs, pink pickled onions and bacon on top, all served on a slab of black stone. The colors, the textures, the flavor. It was the most delicious, decadent and curated bite I’d ever tasted.

As a foodie, I kept thinking about them and craving them. It would be ridiculous to drive all the way back to Napa from the Bay just for a bite, so I learned to make them myself. The basic deviled egg became a blank canvas, and I started experimenting with flavors. Soon, every occasion was a chance to find inspiration and create something new. Thanksgiving? Let’s capture those flavors in a single bite. My sister’s birthday? Let’s create something inspired by her personality and favorite flavors.

Somewhere along the way, my family started calling me “Meggs.” Then “Are you bringing deviled eggs?” became “Are you bringing Meggs?” We’re a playful bunch, it was funny, it stuck and the rest is history. Every “mmm,” smile, and excited “What flavor is this one?” from my family made me want to keep creating. Their love and encouragement gave me the push to take it further. It's funny how something as simple as an egg can be a source of inspiration to start my culinary journey but here we are! Making bites brings together so much of what I love: food, art, experimenting, and making something personal for someone else. Sometimes I start with a theme or flavor, sometimes a color, sometimes a person.
